The launch of the first Nigerian Export Trade House marks a significant impact on the Nigerian economy and a remarkable change in trade between Nigeria and China. This was done in fulfilment of the Federal Government’s initiative to set up Nigerian Export Trade Houses across the globe, Zeenab Foods Limited was entrusted with the mandate to set up and operate the Nigerian Export Trade House in China/Fareast Region in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council [NEPC].
This initiative will enhance the visibility of Nigerian goods and services to the Chinese market and also serve as a commercial hub for Chinese buyers seeking quality Nigerian products.
During the launch, the ED/CEO of NEPC, Mr. Yakusak Ezra stated that the Trade House would facilitate the export of various Nigerian products such as cashew nuts, sesame seeds, cocoa, ginger, and others. He further noted that the Trade House would provide a platform for Nigerian exporters to showcase their products, access the Chinese market, and increase their profitability.
The Chairman of Zeenab Foods Limited, Mr. Victor Ayemere, while speaking highlighted the importance of the partnership between his organization and the NEPC, emphasizing that the Export Trade House would enable Nigerian exporters explore new markets, enhance economic growth and invariably create employment opportunities for the teeming youths.
The Nigerian Ambassador to China, Alh. Baba Ahmad Jidda, expressed his gratitude to Zeenab Foods Ltd and the NEPC for their efforts in promoting Nigerian exports to China. He urged Nigerian exporters to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Trade House and position themselves to compete in the global market. This epoch-making event held at China – Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Innovation Demonstration Park was graced by dignitaries from the economic and Diplomatic Corps of the Chinese and Nigerian Government, amongst them are ; the Nigerian Ambassador to China, Alh. Baba Ahmad Jidda, Deputy DG of Department of Commerce, Huang Libin, Guo Ning – Deputy Director of Commerce of Bureau of Changsha Municipality, the Deputy the ED/CEO of NEPC, Mr. Yakusak Ezra, MD/ Chairman of Zeenab Foods Limited, Mr. Victor Ayemere, and the Nigeria Consul General in Shanghai, Mr. Anderson N. Madubike, distinguished officials from the Chinese Government, Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigerian Export-Import Bank [NEXIM] among other guests.
